Working With The Team at Princess Yachts

Thursday, May 20, 2010

We've been working closely with the team at Princess Yachts to develop the interior of their new 40m M Class motoryacht. These will be built at Princess's new facility at Devonport Royal Dockyard which will bring back happy memories of our Talitha G rebuild which took place there between 1991 and 1994.

We visited Princess's joinery workshops at an early stage of the project and were stunned by the set up, in particular a terrifying Japanese-inspired work flow system which we considered implementing in Bridge Studios before abandoning the idea after two seconds. It may have been a result of the green smiling faces and red sad faces which signify what's going smoothly and what's not. Didn't want to risk too many sad faces in our studio...

Working closely with David King, the Chairman, Chris Gates, MD and Andy Lawrence, Senior Designer, we have developed a smart, sophisticated interior with custom-designed pieces (including a striking Dining Table) and an unmistakeable un built-in vibe. There will be a range of options for timber and marble and a general sense of living on a yacht several metres larger.
