We attended the keel-laying for our 58m new build at de Vries yesterday.
The Owners placed a coin in the rough steel construction of the keel box which was promptly sealed up by a Feadship welder ( no change order...).
There was a large turn-out of the de Vries family - including the two enforcers pictured. After a memorable lunch, a mock-up of a lower deck guest cabin was reviewed and approved, together with all crew area finishes which we suspect will mean de Vries will complete the crew areas before the end of the year, some two and a half years before delivery. Just to be on the safe side.
